Liner Notes

A new collaboration, this time with @andrea!
She made great (and a bit scary which suits here very well) lyrics and the rest was done by me and Eelis (https://www.youtube.com/@philharmonic568) was here to sing.

Edit: Title changed to "Never free" (was: "Skeleton key")

#punk #rock

Lyrics

VERSE 1
Day one they put me in here
I told them I didn't belong
They said, get with the program
And soon I could be long gone

But, I won't take my medication, No

CHORUS
Or let them into my head
I've locked up all those memories
So I could finally breathe
Now they want the skeleton key
I won't take my medication
Substances to make me weak
It doesn't take a PhD
To know they'll never set me free

Instrumental Break

VERSE 2
Ten years and counting
Secrets they'll never come to know
Blood's in the water
Now it's me that can't ever let go

But, I won't take my medication. No

CHORUS
Or tell them who is dead
I've locked up all those memories
So I could finally breathe
Now they want the skeleton key
I won't take my medication
Substances to make me weak
It doesn't take a PhD
To know that I will never be free

Yeah, for protest, standing up, resistance. Interesting song to listen to the reasons not to lock up and medicate. Thumbs up.

Delightfully creepy lyrics by Andrea just perfectly presented by @villedog. I particularly liked the way you sang, "Blood's in the water." This is a great punk song, you two! Congrats on a great collab.

Wow! I'm a big Andrea fan, and it's such a delight to hear her lyrics put to a Nice Hard Rocker. Great collaboration!! ❤️

i didnt mean that it sounded ike a suicide song, there was a band in the 80s who did a song called Institutionalized, in which i teenager screamed at his oarets fr threatening him mental committment. i thought hat this sounded like thesame guy 40 years later refusing to take his medication https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoF_a0-7xVQ

sounds like suicidal tendencies after 40 years of unmedicated madness.

This is how this good lyric should be done! Nice phrasing nails the message! Nice solo! Good song!

Great collaborative effort. Lyric, hard sounding rock and vocals. All work well together. Nice job everyone.
