Already Gone

by @lbrewington

Liner Notes

Another depressing tune about being an outcast that mentions not eating (I'm on a roll). I do like food. I would probably die without it.

#acoustic

Took and hour and half. Chorus seems kind of cool.

Lyrics

am
standing outside a hardware store
waiting for the hauss to decide
but there aint no work in a small small town
for a poor boy looking like me

the scraps are found,
when your feeling real down
where they throw them away at noon
and we gather around
like a troupe of clowns
just to get a mouthful of stale

[chorus] f - c - g - e - am
don't shed a tear for the wicked
don't cry for what's come and gone
don't wave to me on the streets today
for i'm already gone

i'm going uptown to lay my guitar down
on the counter of last chance pawn
the know my name well and there willing to sell
these boots right from my grave

you've been gone so very long
i hardly recall your name
but when times get tough
love is the first
to suffer depression and loss

I hear a little Bob Dylan as well as classic grunge-country. Glad to see you here at 5090 and hope you keep coming back.

I agree, the chorus is cool. I love that melody. This one seems like a perfect backdrop to a seedy tavern in a desert town scene in a movie.

The pawnshop verse really hit me - there was a time in my life when I was that guy. Your entire lyric does a great job of presenting the outcast, seems like on the border of homelessness if not already homeless. Yes it is a good chorus too. Well-played and sang as well.
