Liner Notes

#thanksihateit #instrumental #practice

In the forum thread, I set myself up for a false ending, so I added one to what I was working on. 😀

This was an experiment based on liking some electronic musical ideas while wanting to hear sounds that are more typically folk/rock/pop.

Tech stuff:
I use Reaper as my DAW, along with a fair selection of Native Instruments toys. That includes another DAW (sort of) called Maschine. My goal here is learning how to make those two work together.

Maschine comes with a bunch of expansion packs for various kinds of electronic sub-genres. In this case, I lifted the rhythm and song structure I'm using from one of them, but changed up the tempo, instrumentation, chords, riffs...entirely.

If only my experiments sounded this cool! Smiling at the liner notes, because it sounds like you razed the pack to the ground and then built it up again from scratch. This is the way.

I really should use Maschine more. My NI keyboard will drive it (something that they dropped from the latest version of the hardware, boo!) so I have no excuse.

ooh, this sounds so cool, and the sounds are integrated together smoothly. I like all the elements that bop in and out!

This is a nice combination of acoustic and electronic sounds, smooth and easy going.... I really appreciated listening to it! And thanks for playing along with the challenge! 😉
