"Life gives you a left and a right
And a left
Take the punches
Do your best

Still we venture
Every day
We take our chances
And we stay"
@standup ❤️

I'm a musician using #cassette tapes and mostly portable instruments (#opz #op1 #zoia etc.) to write hopeful soundscapes — from #ambient to #postrock. My #onepersonband is called "The Fishermen & the Priestess".

Preferred #pronouns are they/he. I'm a #queer #immigrant of #Latin origin.

Since 2022 I've also been a FAWM pixie! 🧚🏽‍♀️

My metalfoot number (see https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/forums/1518#c35982) is 1.

Goals for this 50/90:

☑ Make songs from an RV.

Hey Beto! Thanks for stopping by to say hello….14 weeks ago!! Yeah I don’t typically do anything for 5090 but a tape or two is something that I can handle. Looks like you did really well! I hear you are going around here and there, so if you ever end up in the Great Lakes definitely let me know. All the best to you, of course. You are a lovely person.
[avatar]
Hey bud, I enjoyed hearing your always interesting output this summer!
On to FAWM!!
[avatar]
thank you for listening to "a peaceful morning" - I'm really enjoying the new ukulele as well!
[avatar]
Thanks for the flowers, Beto!
But I think that there is no big contrast in @sph s version to mine - both versions could easily be part of the same song.
[avatar]
Hi, I just released our multiverse https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/32286
[avatar]
Thanks for your coment on my mine song - I just posted the photo to the song: Here it is too:

Thank you for listening to more of my music and the bandcamp follow as well! For the story behind the name... my family's dog is named Sora Rae. She's an awesome 8 year old beagle that has had some health issues recently. I think (and really really hope) she's going to be just fine, but I wanted to dedicate the whole project to her. Since I'm combining photos with relevant field sounds in my music, it's like an audio postcard to my dog... "dear sora rae..."
[avatar]
thanks for checking out the glacier road trip song and video! I appreciate your comment a lot, hope you've had a great 50/90
[avatar]
Hi! Thanks for the encouragement on “10x15: Terrible Risks.” That was fun to put together!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comments on my 'Going Back To Skool' lyrics. Yes, think punk would work really well with it!
[avatar]
Yes, I understand :) I hope it works for you!
[avatar]
Huh? You changed your username?
[avatar]
Hey, lovely to meet you! Hope you had a good trip home
[avatar]
Cool live set! I didn't know you can bark 🤣 I'm impressed how much you created out of the RV.
[avatar]
I hope you and the other fellow FAWMers have a great weekend..rock on.
[avatar]
Sounds like a great RV companion!
[avatar]
Thank you for spinning "Come On Down To Camden Town", and the kind words - yes, when in Camden, Johnny and the boys are a must see! 😆
[avatar]
I know The Fishermen & the Priestess is the name of your band, but i wasnt even thinking of that when I titled the song, which i didnt do until it was finished. Glad you liked the song, even though i may have had your band floating around in my subconscious.
[avatar]
Hi Beto,
Glad you like In Search Of Giants. Yes, I was pleased that I was able to connect the White House mention with lyrics about redwood trees! Great fun to do, and thanks for the inspiration
[avatar]
But it is possible to connect to the DAW?
[avatar]
Me too! Did you connect to your DAW?
[avatar]
Just listened to it - also a really nice song! Did you use a looper?
[avatar]
Hi Beto! Thanks for your kind words on my cat song! My sparse arrangement is a bit of a result of my sparse equipment 😀 and my sparse idea of music theory. But - to be honest - i believe if i would have more (instruments, skills, knowledge) i would go on this way cause i like it.

Want to listen to your Gentle Giant song but couldn‘t find it?
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comments on my lyrics for the postcard challenge :)
[avatar]
Thanks for the info on posting photos. I found the direct link where I already made an account, and made the change in my liner notes :)
[avatar]
THANK YOU for the hot tip on getting the image into my liner notes for "Like Beavers, Seldom Seen" -- and I'm very glad you liked the song. Thank you for being the first to comment on it!
[avatar]
Ok..just pinged @carleybaer
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind words about Petrichor. I really appreciate it!
[avatar]
re: your question on "hxn01" - I used an app called Hexen for that. It's a modular synth emulation similar to VCV Rack, but for Android.
[avatar]
Ever so many thanks for the encouragement on "No Chance (Fancy Pants)!"
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words on "Frozen Underwater." I really appreciate it!
[avatar]
thank you for commenting on Worm's Return - i know, i want to hang out with Worm, too! they are happy tho, don't worry, happy with their lil' worm self. 💜
[avatar]
Hi Beto, thank you so much for your beautiful comment on my skirmish piece and for your inspiring prompt.
[avatar]
Thanks a lot for your support Beto 🤗
[avatar]
Thanks for your advice re placing an image on the liner notes. It worked a treat.
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words, Beto. Yes, I meant voilà!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your comments on "Come on Let's Dance" random collab song. That was so fun to sing! THe arranger did most of the work for the music! Coolparadisos lyrics were inspriring!
[avatar]
Hello. You asked about uploading an image to one of my demos. Can you remind me how I can do this.? Thanks in advance.
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on "Barbie Blue (Barbie At Ground Zero)" -- I'm glad that line works for most listeners. I would've hated to leave it out.
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind words about Downward Facing Dog. I really appreciate it!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comments on my lyrics recently. Much appreciated! And yes, the number of dead people is a pretty big number!
[avatar]
thanks for listening to the honeymoon songs! I appreciate the kind words so much
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind words on Good to Be Here! Glad you liked it.
[avatar]
Glad you liked 'Autocrats 1'!
[avatar]
@ayais
Great meeting you this past weekend at the @standup gathering.
[avatar]
thank you for the comment on civilian attitudes. this is the story i told you on a zoom about the border war beterrn brazil and bolitiva where the bolivian army never showed up.
[avatar]
"This would've been perfect for the "witching hour" skirmish (though it happened after you made this song)." - Time is of no importance to witches ;)
[avatar]
It was very cool having you around in person for @standup's memorial. Thank you. Its what you and others have created here in FAWMland that fills my heart with strength and courage beyond what is needed on a daily basis.
[avatar]
Thank you for checking out "I Had To Know She Had Three Hearts." Really enjoyed the #postcardchallenge -- thank you for initiating it!
[avatar]
Thanks Beto. You know, people walk around all the time talking, and then I see they have a phone apparatus in their ear. Most of the time they are oblivious to other people around them. At least I had a phone in my hand and used Voice Memo. But it was fun. Looking at the process, I should have had something on paper to remember what to say. I had a few big gaps when I couldn't come up with something quickly. Bump Bump.
[avatar]
Thank you for listening to "When We Drown (This Is What It Feels Like)" -- I appreciate it and treasure the compliment! I don't love the reality of the topic but I do love sorrow on the ukulele.
[avatar]
Thanks also for your lovely comments on "White Skies and a Wildfire Sun" - I'm always surprised and happy to hear a compliment about my voice!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on "Slice" - I'm glad you like it, and I may put it up on a TikTok vid at some point per your suggestion!
[avatar]
Absolutely rock on
[avatar]
Like all the best lyrics the interpretation is in the eye of the reader. I am sorry if you were offended. Truly
[avatar]
@klaus
Thanks for the comments, Elesimo.

The slashes after "I"? Those are for me when I sing a new lyric. For example "I / look at the sky" means that "I" is a pick-up note and the first beat of the measure falls on "look". It helps me to remember what is the rhythm of each line.

Those are for my personal use only. I usually remember to take them out because people don't need to see them. But today I was in a Skirmish rush ( AKA Skrush ). Thanks for the reminder. I wouldn't have noticed them otherwise. Cheers!

PS. And thank you again for a great Skirmish prompt...or should I say Skriomptsh? No, I really shouldn't. I'll stop now.
[avatar]
Thanks for the warm welcome Beto! Or is it elesimo? Or both? Or either? Argh I feel like such a newbie! I see you've been pretty productive over the last couple of weeks. That's inspiring to me. Where are you located?
[avatar]
@kc_
your amazon order for adult Garanimal closet, organization, pack a shipped! LoL! thanks for stopping by to listen and comment. Appreciate your time!
[avatar]
thank you for commenting on So Long, and Thanks! you prompted me to actually get that demo out! https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/26346
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your comment on Tango for One! You’re right- I’m addicted and want to do another skirmish!!!
[avatar]
Man, I LOVE the baritone ukulele. I recorded my first ever EP on one, back in the day ;) So happy to hear it on your track. Looking forward to listening to more of your stuff!
[avatar]
Thanks for listening to "Lac d'Arnon"! Yes this sounds indeed theremin-like, but it reminded me more of the "singing diva" sound J.M. Jarre used in "Equinoxe". The preset was called "Divatron" and I loved it immediatedly!
[avatar]
Your comment on my BCP song made me laugh. I was almost tempted to try it but I was suddenly afraid it would open a portal into an even darker timeline 😬😬 hope all is well in the RV!
[avatar]
Thanks for your response to "What We Weathered" -- I appreciate the compliment.
[avatar]
No sweat if it didn't come through. Just dropped something completely different in the mail for you. 😀
[avatar]
I addressed it to Beto Dealmida - it was a hand-crafted piece and I wonder if that threw off the postal service somehow. I'll put another one in the mail.
[avatar]
I just received your lovely postcard! 💯 Can you confirm mine got to you okay?
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comments on my collab with cookiecatshroom (I Won't Remember You)!
[avatar]
It was a pleasure meeting you during the weekly zoom!
[avatar]
OMG, I was just kidding! Please be so kind and give my slot to another "collaborator"! :-)
[avatar]
Hi! I'm looking forward to meeting you in person soon!
[avatar]
Thanks!
Hmm... so message in profile is "common way" to respond to comments? I wondered why song threads almost never has replies.
[avatar]
@gm7
all is good...no problem.
[avatar]
@gm7
Did you get my email?..or is that email no longer valid...or should it be Elesimo@RV.org lol
[avatar]
i like college collage :) it is that :)
[avatar]
that stanza you like at the end of the dog song is a reference to this group i was recently invited to join, they are academics who pass around the papers they have written to the members. most are critical theorists and the writing is tough going because a lot of it is either coded or uses a specialized vocabulary. but even if i dont understand 90% of it, there are usualy a few illuminating ideas that i understand and are stimulated by.
[avatar]
your comments have transformed my day from a rotten one to a pretty good one.
[avatar]
haha thanks Beto :)
[avatar]
Wow, I guess I was way off base with my interpretation of the RV song! 😂 But I'm glad you liked my (mis)reading!
[avatar]
Your comment on 'Whatever' means a lot to me. You're absolutely right about it being important to be our true selves and the ones that stick around are the ones that truly care in the end.
[avatar]
Hi Beto!

First: Thanks a lot for hearing and commenting my "Witching Hour" song!

I have a question to you hoping that you as being "Mod" could help me: Yesterday a link to a bandcamp page was featured prominently, with artists who did FAWM-related releases. Some time ago I recorded a special FAWM album, too. What am I to do to get this featured on this place? Can you help me?

Thanks in advance,
Volker
[avatar]
Done! 😀
[avatar]
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check them out!
[avatar]
thanks so much for listening to 'Horizon'! I appreciate the kind words a lot
[avatar]
hello hello! how do you want to do this? shall i email you?

ed.: yeah i'mma email you, you've got it all publicly accessible up there and everything 😄
[avatar]
Ha ha, I think on reflection I'm going to save that for another day - it's hidden away up there in a corner and I can't bear the thought of digging it out only to find its bust! Maybe next year though...
[avatar]
Emailed you about the Postcard collab - mail arrives from pannewb@gmail.com
[avatar]
Thanks Beto! Great to connect! Cheers, Smudgie
[avatar]
@kiffa
Thank you Beto! Looking forward to hearing what you come up with from your new mobile studio. I hope the change of scenery inspires you!
[avatar]
Hello sir! Thank you, as always, for everything you do for this site, and looking forward to more of your electronica / soundscapes this summer!
[avatar]
FAWM pixie - I love it! Here's to a great FAWM-in-an-RV for you!

@gm7
Big day tomorrow..good luck on your adventures...stay save.
[avatar]
Yes! I recorded most of it at Studio 132 up in the hills above Montclair Village. A few tracks were recorded on my equipment. Thanks for buying it on Bandcamp.
[avatar]
Uh, maybe? Does the device need an Australian power plug?

If you think it'll work, send me an email. Should be listed on my profile. Only thing is, I don't do internet banking, so I wouldn't be able to pay you shipping etc.

Thanks for the offer, either way. 😀
[avatar]
i know! was so lovely to meet him in person!
[avatar]
I'm still so proud of us for rhyming Estonian/Smithsonian!
[avatar]
Hey!!
Can't wait to hear more of your musical experiments!!
[avatar]
Hi Beto! Does that bridge hike feel like a million years ago to you too?? :) Good job on the hackathon, the site looks great!
[avatar]
Hey Beto, excited to hear what creative craziness you come up with this 50/90. And from an RV no less! Ooh-la-la.
[avatar]
Hey and thanks for all of the hard work on this website!
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind offer of comics in Portuguese. I'm interested; however these days I try to limit the amount of transatlantic shipping I'm causing. How many comics are we talking about and from where?
[avatar]
Happy 50/90!
[avatar]
Thanks for explaining! Wow this really sounds like an adventure, fingers crossed you see a lot on your road trip and that it inspires you. I'm taking a break from songwriting cause there is still too much on my plate. Full focus on mixing and mastering for the next months.
[avatar]
Welcome back! I'm wishing you a productive and creative Summer. What does RV mean?
[avatar]
So ready to host a skirmish! I was surprised to be the first to schedule one, but am happy to host and maybe even get a song out of it myself!
[avatar]
Im ready to break out of the gate Beto. and to hear what kind of sounds come out of that RV!
[avatar]
i love that!
[avatar]
Welcome back! Making music from an RV on the road sounds incredible btw. Really, truly looking forward to hearing what you come up with this 50/90
[avatar]
I'll probably be around -- but maybe not much until after my new windows get installed.
[avatar]
Great work!! So good to see you again. Perhaps I will actually get something done for 50/90 this year! Have fun creating and adventuring in Major Tom! :)
[avatar]
ola' Beto, looking forward to your songs and seeing you up in Washington. Happy RVing!
[avatar]
Have a wonderful 50/90 Beto!
[avatar]
@gm7
RV Man! Safe travels. Post some pics of you making music on the road.
[avatar]
Good to see you here again! And good luck with the RV music making! Portable gear is a good start, I know from experience.
[avatar]
Hi Beto! The website looks great! Let's do this thang!
[avatar]
thanks Beto! have a great 50/90 and enjoy the fruits of your work on the site!
[avatar]
I fully expect you to stick the microphone out the window on evenings you need some dithering noise - have a great 50/90!
[avatar]
Good music making! Have a great 50/90
[avatar]
Hey there, the very same to you!
[avatar]
Hello there. Hope you have a good 50/90 too!
