Tongue-Tied

Re-reading "Wintersmith" was interesting enough that I couldn't stop at only one song. This is related to a character who may be in love, but definitely hasn't transitioned to human. That leaves him acting like a socially-inept boy who has never thought about relating to girls before.
Lyrics
Standing in the snow, staring at his shoes,
Can’t form words ‘cause he doesn’t have a clue.
Tongue-tied (Tongue-tied)
Tongue-tied (Tongue-tied)
Dumbstruck boy holding back a flood tide
Turns his head away, biting on his lip.
Thoughts collide ’til they’re broken little bits.
Tongue-tied (Tongue-tied)
Tongue-tied (Tongue-tied)
Dumbstruck boy holding back a flood tide
Follows her around, staying out of sight
She can’t see, but he’s hoping that she might.
Tongue-tied (Tongue-tied)
Tongue-tied (Tongue-tied)
Dumbstruck boy holding back a flood tide
When he’s got it right, looking in her eyes
Then he’ll say what he’s tried to memorize
Don’t doubt I love you
I’m always thinking of you
Though the time that I shoved you
On the ice
Wasn’t nice
But, you see, I’ve been changing
And the life I’m arranging
You won’t find as a strange thing
With our kids
Who’d forbid
My obvious affection
My provision of protection
And forgiveness for rejection
Stop it! No!
Just, “Hello.”
