Some notes on my 5090 submissions for 2023: Everything I'm doing is an #improvisation . It's the only way I have a chance of reaching 50. Each one is a #one_take (not necessarily first take) recording on one of my #keyboards . The post-processing uses Audacity and is limited to adjusting levels and adding reverb. A couple of the recordings put the single track against itself with a time shift.

I can't believe I didn't think of "night of the living bread"! I love a corny (hoho) gah. I might have to see if I can work that in (with credit of course!)

There was definitely a hint of Jurassic Park in my latest improv. I heard it and veered in a different direction.

Thanks for the comment on Too Many Strings - I do have a bit of head start on guitar in that I've messed about with guitalele a bit so I know a few chord shapes. It'll take quite a bit more stretching and developing of muscle memory, but it's been fun to play around with so far and it'll nice to have another sound available.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response on "Sky-Wide" -- I share your question! Thanks, too, for the encouragement to keep working on "Shove Over."

Thank you for your great feedback on Happy for Your Win, I'm glad you found it varied 😊 I thought I might have harped on the main theme too much

thanks for your kind words on my song!
a Bussard is a bird of prey.

I can see it in the song! And as you tagged my name it will also be in my profile!

Thanks so much for the feedback. I was just getting my head around counterpoint and harmony so would definitely love to get into modulation at some point.

Thanks for your comment! I think you've hit on an aspect I intended -- for it to be about how you are NOT the author of your own story, in some ways. Whether you believe in a higher power or not, you don't get to choose how long your story lasts! There's other meaning in there, too, for me, but it's okay if it's not clear. :)

Thanks for that input…

Hi Gary, I'm not that far away. I'm in the Hanover area. Right now I have a MacBook but it is near maxing out on storage. I need to try to get files off this computer. I was wondering about a Mac Mini with 512gb of storage being dedicated to music. Alternatively, if I get clean up what I have now and transfer files to an external hard drive, I may be all set. Or if I use some cloud storage, which I've never done. Any thoughts?

Much as I hate to Jump When The Net Says Jump, all too often I probably should :-) :-)

Haha, yes, that's another way it could have gone!

It's *really* convincing! I'm gobsmacked!

Thanks for the "Sheep" comment. The title was just me playing games. At first the mood made me think of something peaceful and pastoral. (Sheep May Safely Graze) Then Jane's comment about it being positive made me think, "Well, the sheep looking up didn't *know* there was no food coming."

I looked up Die Gedanken sind frei -- what a lovely idea to incorporate it into your work, and the Scholl link is such a bonus!

I know what you mean about catalyst conversations -- I wrote a FAWM song in February after getting frustrated in a forum thread. ;)

Thanks so much for being open to "Church After Church (Feeling For You)" -- it definitely is not meant just for religious people. :)

Thank you for your comment on "Whatever Love You Leave Behind" -- I'm glad it was doing some "showing" rather than all "telling."

Thanks, Gary. I'm glad you could hear the raindrops in "The Storm."

Perhaps you should visit Torpenhow Hill some day :). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torpenhow_Hill

Hi, Gary! You could subscribe to my mailing list. I send out an e-mail every time I post a comic. Check itneverrainscomic.com for info on how to do that.

Thanks for the comment! I plan to take it gently, so I don't think I'll be getting close to 50, but you never know...
