It wasn't until I finished that writing this that I realized the verse structure is almost identical to "Count the Fingers"--oopsie! Guess that'll take some reworking back in the real world. But here's my skirmish for the "horror" prompt!

Regroup–did you take your melatonin?
Sleep through the poltergeist shaking the nightstand
Drawing letters in red

Are they really there if you’re the only one who sees them?

Someone else’s breath fogs up the glass

Last night, someone flushed your medication
Squeeze your eyes shut and try some meditation
Fighting, hands tied behind your back

No, it isn’t fair, nothing that you try will appease them
