Liner Notes

Admittedly, I got a bit of a headstart on this year’s 50/90. This is a song I’m really quite proud of. I’m still trying to make sense of the lyrics myself (despite writing it), but I’d say it’s just about falling into such a deep low point in your life where it seems like everything can only go wrong. It’s one of my most intricate tracks musically, as well. I make use of some jazz chords in this one that I’ve never used before. Hope you enjoy! Really looking forward to writing more tracks in this installment of 50/90!

Love this! I really like how the verses are hyper specific — making the song feel real — while the chorus are generic, making the song feel relatable. Brilliant writing, and I love the arrangement.

I've definitely been there, changing my mind about or discovering new aspects to the meaning of my own lyrics. There are a lot of elements here, and they seem to be balancing nicely. The piano is such a rich participant. Lovely melody and vocal work, too.

Someone will tell you what you meant :-) really cool power piano ballad with some really nice musical touches. Strong vocal rounds it off well. Really nice song all round love this style a bit Ben folds.

I really like the arrangement you've made for this. The call and response with synth on the first "And here I am" tickles my brain. I love the chords going with "And here I am again" that's something I can listen to on loop. Life feels out of control for me so these lyrics are very meaningful in that sense. Really great song!
