Sad To Leave

Late to the party... Hope I don't have to leave too soon!
Got to break the seal somehow and keep moving forward. Not entirely sure what this song is about, but it was a good excuse to keep things simple with some power chord rock and not think about the words. The lyrics are not much more advanced beyond what I sang along to get the melody. References to pigeons have been removed, but there's certainly an opportunity to revisit the words if the song sticks around long enough in my head. I probably should have spent longer learning to sing it, or spent some time with Melodyne, but it would be easier to just rerecord. Maybe when I revisit the lyrics. It's good to leave a song with ambition.
Structurally, the little bridge solo part was originally just to get back to the chorus - not sure it does that very effectively, but I would like to embrace this breakdown/solo section more and extend it. Not sure the end chorus needs to be played twice, at least not if it doesn't do anything new the second time. The ending could do with something as it's just a lazy copy/paste of the chorus.
Recorded using Reaper with guitar rig and EZdrummer. Played with a mid-90s Japanese Strat that I rebuilt from a junk shop find.
I've got a lot of catching up to do even just to break the 14 FAWM barrier. Wish me luck!
