Supermoon
Liner Notes
“Supermoon” - #fawm 50/90 2024 song 30
I remember being unsure about the “Supermoon” prompt last summer but not unhappy with the lyrics that resulted. I wrote two bridges instead of one, and I like having the verses up front and the bridges at the back end of the song. Today I applied just two chords (turned into 5) and improvised my way to the melody. I think it will shift a bit as I continue to play with it.

Lyrics
You rise in stunning day
An icy pool of light
Sometimes your brain can cope
Some days you wait for night
There’s weeks the sun’s so sharp
Everything’s painful clear
Evenings you’re rechargeable
If the moon comes near
Losing your grip on daytime blues
When the world fades into night
You sleep under the supermoon
The sky a bit more bright
To-do: a moving target, errands, office, gym
Stand still too long, you get the blame
Flip on the radio, you hear that tune again,
Just hum it, -- you don’t know the name
CHORUS
Days are an elevator ride, -- the cables slide
The brakes’ll catch, slip to the street
Sometimes you’ll take an extra turn in the revolving door
And wonder -- if you have to leave
Losing your grip on daytime blues
When the world fades into night
You sleep under the supermoon
The sky a bit more bright
CHORUS x2
Supermoon
