Boundaries. Where do you draw the line?
Lyrics
I draw the line
At standing up to the powers
A fight like that
Might take me hours
I control my time
Keep my head down
You’ve got to master your attention
Before you school the town
You can’t fight City Hall
You can’t fight Daryl Hall
You can’t fight Arsenio Hall
You can’t fight any Hall at all
If they’ve got a whole big hall
And you’re just Joe
With a hole in the wall
I hate to break it to you
But the way I see it
They’ve already
Got you
I am a wizard
I’ve taken the wizard’s oath
You can have everything you want
Or justice but you can’t have both
It’s a hall of mirrors
The way they set up the fight
They want you to believe
That you’re doing what’s right
But you can’t fight City Hall
You can’t fight Daryl Hall
You can’t fight Arsenio Hall
You can’t fight any Hall at all
If they’ve got a whole big hall
And you’re just Joe
With a hole in the wall
I hate to break it to you
But the way I see it
They’ve already
Got you
Wizardry power
Hour by hour
Wizardry power
Hour by hour
Wizardry power
Hour by hour
Wizardry power
You can’t fight City Hall
You can’t fight Daryl Hall
You can’t fight Arsenio Hall
You can’t fight any Hall at all
You can’t fight City Hall
You can’t fight Daryl Hall
You can’t fight Arsenio Hall
You can’t fight any Hall at all
You can’t fight City Hall
You can’t fight Daryl Hall
Comments
I was a bit surprised by the sincere twist of:
"I’ve taken the wizard’s oath
You can have everything you want
Or justice but you can’t have both"
Good skirmish!
(Robert Fripp's recent and ridiculous 32-disc "Exposures" box set includes Hall's original version of his "Sacred Songs" album as it was before the record company got at it, and it's stunning; not what I expected at all.)
