The Next American Dance Sensation - The Jake
Choreographed moves to follow.
Played on baritone ukulele. I'm confusing myself now. Just go do The Jake.
Lyrics
c6
you gotta shake it to the east
am
then shake it to the right
f g
spin around round fast then keep it real tight
c6 am f
cause everybody doing the jake
everybodys doing the jake
jump, stroke, shake your fanny
dive, jive, feel real fine
cause everybodys doing the jake
everybodys doing the jake
it's a groovy little dance and groovy little tune
get you out of your chair just dancing on the floor
yeah everybody's the jake
everybody's doing the jake
it's a hop, stomp, shake your hips
hands in the air as you spin spin spin
yeah everybody's the jake
everybody's doing the jake
freeze and close your eyes
let the world pass right by
open them now and you will see
everyone is happy as can be
cause everybodys doing the jake
yeah everybodys doing the jake
everybodys doing the jake
everybodys doing the jake
everybodys doing the jake

That chord progression sounds really cool on your uke. Definitely has some modern EDM character to it.
The playfulness of the lyrics paired with what my ears convey as an intimate 'voice+uke' performance makes for an enjoyable listen that made hit play twice.
Was gonna say I can hear all sorts of synths, new-retro drums, and all the fixins' of electro music being added to this - but honestly, I think the coolness is in the lyrics and the simple sound of voice+uke.
Really digged (dug?) this.
