A little song about a dog and his master. This one is a bit emotional.

5090 has already brought out what I did not expect. I don't even have a dog! Songwriting is a strange thing. Maybe someone else can relate to this song somehow.

Chords: Capo 4
Verse: Am, F, G, C
Refrain: Am, Em
Outro: Am, Em

Soli Deo Gloria

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The dog ran after every new and unforeseen sight
Killed a bug and went his way not stopping at night
Lost his place and found a crate, went so far away
Turns out he was sent afar as night became day

[Refrain]
His master cried
"Oh, my dear, where are you?"

[Verse 2]
Every paw came off that boat and landed on sand
Merchants came and walked around throughout this new land
This dog did not soon realize his master was gone
He wondered and he thought if he had done something wrong

[Refrain]
[Refrain]

[Outro]
The dog asked
"Where's home now?"
"I want to be found"

The pause and the melody line in the refrain was real nice, unexpected!

Lovely way of setting this common feeling to music. Nice lyrics and choice of chords, and you sound great.

I like your sweet and swingy melody. I can imagine singing along. I also love the sort of slowdown during the refrain — it reflects your forlorn topic in a lovely way.

Loosing a pet can be very traumatic for the owner and the pet...well done!

Yeah it's very hard when a pet loses its owner. My cat ran away a few times last year and agony in the search to find her exhausting.. my story had a happy ending but it was a very nervous search over a week. I really like the way the refrain has a contrast the the verses. I would maybe suggest in a future recording sing verse two with a slightly different melody to keep it fresh. I enjoyed this.
