Lyrics

We,ve been together for so many years
Still I don't know why you cry all those tears
It's just a riddle wrapped in mystery
You're still a stranger to me
Is it a stigma I don't understand
You're an enigma still holding my hand
It's just a puzzle a true oddity
You're still a stranger to me

I thought I knew just how you would react
But I was wrong - a deplorable fact
Your reputation - ambiguity
You're still a stranger to me
Always a danger that I would forget
Who said a stranger's a friend youve not met?
You're not a part of my community
You're still a stranger to me

It seems unlikely I was unaware
That there was nothing that would make you care
It seems to me that we never agree
You're still a stranger to me
Our conversations are just surface noise
And our relations have lost all their poise
There is no chance of more intimacy
You're still a stranger to me

setting this in waltz time (or perhaps 6/8?) lends it so much charm. the refrain ties everything together, and in such a timeless way too. the tune would fit among some in a book on my shelf called "Songs that Never Grow Old". and the lyrics are sweet in a way -- maybe we all have that one person in our lives who we're close to in one regard or another, but they're just baffling.

Great lyrics, and a really nice implementation of the refrain. It works really well throughout, emphasizing the points made in the verses. There’s tone, too, that belies the sadness of the subject

This is an excellent lyric. I think this relatable. Who hasn't either been in a relationship or friendship with someone and thoughts like this come to you at some point? Very good delivery and playing as well. Nice job here.
