This one was a trip down a #dark road - or, perhaps, a thrilling trip down the path of a perfectly fine sapphic #queer #lovesong. It might also be a #superhero song, in a climactic confrontation between a superhero and her rival. I certainly had that in the back of my mind, too.

I worked in the Descending Chords weekly challenge, which I think helped shape the arc of the story.

That descending chord sequence really ramps up the drama. I agree with the superhero comment in your liner notes, too—I can easily hear this as grand guignol, extended cinematic universe fare. It's not until everything resolves spectacularly with that last line that you realise how the song has been building us up to it.

nicely open to interpreptation. i like the slower pace slowly speeding up! excellent lyric especially the chorus
