Basement Party

Liner Notes

#old_school #electronic #80s #90s #house #freestyle

I was too young to go down the basement stairs with the colored lightbulbs lighting up the stairwell.
But I went down there anyway. I sat in a corner and watched young adults do their thing to music that was way too loud to even hear anything clearly, but I could feel the rumble of the kick and the low pads and the synth lead stabs and riffs were like ice down my spine.
And I'll never know what song that was seeping from those bad speakers that cemented this style of music permanently in my soul.
It wasn't hip-hop, it wasn't funk, it wasn't r&b, it wasn't pop, it wasn't soul.
It was freestyle/house.

Love the liner notes! I can totally picture the scene from your notes. I am loving your dance music. The beats and vocals bring the dance vibe in spades. I wish it was Friday night rather than Monday morning๐Ÿ˜‰

Loved it. Great energy, love the voice, lots going on but it's still coherent. Really well done. ๐Ÿ˜€

Whoa, first off I love the story behind this. It's like a preview into how you got into this kind of music, which is awesome. The song is great, too, and builds really nicely. Seriously well done!

I want to go with you to one of those 'basement party' and just listen to your stuff and watch the Disco ball as @orbit123 said.

Love the way this builds - the start with the vocal sample and then the soft pad coming in is excellent. Then bass and beats, and at 1 min it really kicks into gear. Great dance track.

This is groovy! 50/90 is a trip from really good acc guitar songs recorded on phone to dim light and D*I*S*C*O ball! Thank you!s
