Man Formerly Known As Lover

sat down with my guitarlele and emptied my sick mind

Lyrics

Wish you could find a thought
Where I belong in you dreams
And let it grow once again
Cuz I can’t be friend – only lover

I wish I could be like your new man
Handsome and polite but shallow
One of the things in this matter I will never understand
That you left me then for another

So tell me if you’re alone
And let me give you that good old ….
I’ll sneak through your window
While he’s out bowling with his friends
I’ll shake you good until he’s back again

I hope you can find a thought
Remembering when I moved in you
And I’ll do the true lovers knot
And be your dirty old man too
– play the games we used to

So tell me if you’re alone
And let me give you that good old ….
I’ll sneak through your window
While he’s out bowling with his friends
I’ll shake you good until he’s back again

Another great title that drew me in!

there are elements here that remind me of both jeff and tim buckley, and a touch of leonard cohen as well. i can understand why you jazzed up the passages in which you snuck through the window, but being taken there away from the soft seductive tones that had set the songs mood was a bit jarring.

I like how the music switches character with the chorus, I really enjoyed this.

@jeustan

My your voice is amazing. The chorus will stick with me after the recording is finished playing because I like it so much. Something about him being out bowling and “shake you good ‘til he’s back…” just makes me smile. Great song.
