Before It's Over

by @andygetch

Liner Notes

#acoustic_one_take #acoustic_classical_guitar tuned down a fourth BEADF#B. I saw the @jwhanberry #superskirmish, #songskirmish, #ss081222l, #feast, #beforecompletion 'THEME/TITLE: Before Completion' prompt with about ten minutes to go. Having just listened to @metalfoot song this song of #gratitude spilled out. Recorded in free time.

Lyrics

[Actual chord sound(chord shape relative to nut)]
F#madd11/E(Bmadd11/A) - xo4430;

[G(C)] Before it's over I'd like to say thank you
[C(F)] to all who make this possible
[D/A(G/D)] To all who listen
[G(C)] To all who comment kindly
[C(F)] To all who tolerate my blather
[D/A(G/D)] When there are other things you would rather

Verse 1
[G(C)] I'm here to have fun
[Em(Am)] To escape the worries of the world today
[F#madd11/E(Bmadd11/A)] When I feel like I want to run
[G(C)] From the stress and congestion in the city

Repeat chorus

Verse 2
[G(C)] I don't care what people think
[Em(Am)] There are songs here
[G(C)] And the well is too deep to drink
[G(C)] To the bottom

Chorus 2
[G(C)] Before it's over I'd like to say thank you
[C(F)] to all who make this possible
[D/A(G/D)] To all who listen
[G(C)] To all who comment kindly
[C(F)] To all who tolerate my blather
[D/A(G/D)] I can't think of another place that I would rather

Now that I've finished my part of the morph I can listen to this. Lovely sentiment! The appreciation is mutual. "I don't care what people think/There are songs here" 😄 💚
I like the combination of fingerpicked and strummed guitar, that's really nice.

@ttg105

The classical guitar sounds wonderful. I like the laid-back aura of the whole thing and the great "tolerate my blather."

@fuzzy

Aw, well, we appreciate all of your great songs!
Really excellent lyrics here, and so true.
Your recording and vocals sound really, I dunno, intimate?
Like you're performing to just me in my headphones.
If that makes sense?
Nice work!

This is really lovely and a great tribute to the FAWMing and songwriting community. I love the gentle delivery.

A perfect encapsulation of what's great about 50/90 (although I'm sure it's equally applicable to broader musical contexts), and I like how the understated performance just reinforces the feeling of genuine sincerity and appreciation.

@nadine

I like this one. Gratitude is a great thing. You should try this as last song on a live session.

@tjeff

Interesting tuning, sounds nice. I like your lyric, sort of like a letter written to your listeners. Very cool take on the prompt!

You bring about good observation deepness here in both lyrics and strings. All sounded like a fab unplugged version of an even fuller song. Nice job!
