Creamed Corn Attacked the Suburbs

Liner Notes

In my further experimentation of using loops and things in my DAW, I was taken by something I overheard at an ice cream stand in Wareham, Massachusetts during a very hot evening in July 2022.

A boy (probably about 8 years old) was telling his mothers that he had an idea for a horror film called "Creamed Corn Attacked the Suburbs". As I heard that title, I knew it had to be the inspiration for a song. I tried to find sounds that I liked that would make me think of how a prepared vegetable would go about taking over rows of track housing. This is what I came up with.

Great title (those people are gonna get creamed!). I like the various loops. Nice variety and contrasts.

The title was irresistible. Very fun. And a perfect excuse to explore the loops and effects available. Fun!

Had to check this out after hearing about it in the Tuesday Zoom call. Very creative and lots of cool sounds. I'm visualizing this as part of a multimedia show with laser lights on processed sounds activated by a MIDI hammered dulcimer. Great work!

@andrea

The title sounds so outlandish I had to check it out. The music is very pleasant with some creepiness crawling in. I like it.

Not the killer canned vegetables, lol!! This really hit the B-horror movie level of drama. I love that you are experimenting with so many new genres and expressions of your creativity!

Crazy title and fun liner notes about its origin. Love how the music evolves and flows like lava flows of creamed corn streaming through streets covering cars and lawns and creeping up on porches … really effective suspenseful action vibe.

Well how could I not click on a song with this title? :) I'm digging the industrial vibes of this song. Super creative!

The title makes me think of the movie Bowfinger and their movie in the movie "Chubby Rain" lol. (where the aliens came to earh inside rain drops thus making the rain chubby). This is a fun use of loops. Lots of interesting sounds, spacey, kinda creamy, like cloud with a chance of creamed corn as it attacks all the gated communities and white picket fences.

reminds me of the movie, attack of the killer tomatoes. this would be fitting soundtrack material for one of those ridiculously titled horror movies.
