Hold me Close

Liner Notes

Well this started as and might still be, a naff love song! But.. I tried to lift it first with my keyboard and then adding a trumpet. Well it was fun and I think it might well make a popular live song!

Lyrics

I want to hold you close to me
I want to hold you tight
I want you when the lights go down
Babe itll be alright

Change the channel,
stream the current shows
Sit and Watch the tv
As it fades and goes

oh oh Pour me another drink
Tell me what you really think
Remember how it usedt o be

I turn to face your way
Hoping for another day
Like th ones used to be

I want to hold you close to me
I want to hold you tight
oh I want you when the lights go down
Babe itll be alright

Change the channel,
stream the current shows
Sit and Watch the tv screen
As it fades and goes

Pour me another drink
Tell me what you really think
Remember how it used to be

Pour me another drink
Tell me what you really think
Remember how it used to be

Lovely relatable lyric! So much longing for loveI I love the keys and trumpet that give it such an upbeat feel that is a nice juxtaposition with the heartfelt legato longing of the lyric.

@panch

Cool trumpet part and I love the ska feel. Nice and upbeat although the lyrics do have a bitter-sweet tinge.

What an uplifting song with a cool feel with that accent on the 2 and 4. Love the organ synth sound and the trumpet is a great add to the mix.

I heard a lot but it's the first time I heard reggae on FAWM. You completely understood how to create a happy vibe. The tone of the organ together with the guitars and trumpet are fine and super chill. With a touch of 60s classic love songs. Good combination!

Definitely have that island sound going, nice trumpet sound and also really like the smooth bass tone! Diggin' the reggae groove and the sentiment in the lyric is lovely.

i like how that reggae beat has been smuggled in..and the trumpet gives the song a ska feel. and all the while the general feel is that of old school love rock. (cool organ note at the end)

Nice simple good old time love song. I'm liking that trumpet so much, and it reminds me that I think I have mine around somewhere but can't recall where. Maybe I gave it to one of my sons years back. I'll have to ask. See if I can get my lips back in shape--'cuz they do sound nice! Good job!

Cool things happening in the bass section, really smooth groovy lines going on. Great trumpet work and overall a pleasant production. Lyrically sincere and sweet and your skills in your craft keep it from going too sappy.
