Zeno's Song

Liner Notes

This #silly #ukulele song popped into my head, so I thought I'd better get it out again. #iloveshortsongs #fuc

I'd like to sing a song for you
I'd like to sing it all the way through
But before I get that far
I have to sing you the first half

And before that I think I oughta
Sing the whole of the first quarter
Even then you'll have to wait
Until I've got through the first eighth

And of course I'll need, I reckon
The first sixteenth, then thirty second
Sixty fourth, one twenty eighth,
I'll barely get out of the gate

I can't see a good solution,
I guess this song's just an illusion

I've long been intrigued by Zeno's Paradox -- I've even ready a couple of books about it -- so I feel well-qualified to say: this song is an absolute delight, and a philosophical treat to boot. Bravo!

That's funny and has an appealing sound.

(Great minds time: I once wrote a parody of The Eagles' "Take It To the Limit" that I called "Closer To the Limit". It includes a verse referencing Achilles and the turtle.)

I love the progressively deepening problem/paradox of this. Your lighthearted vocals dance really well with the lyrical content. I loved "I guess this song's just an illusion." Another great tune! 👍

Did I ever make it to the end of the song? It's a paradox...

This pushes *so* many of my nerd buttons. Well done, sir.
