Sloths at the Bazaar - The Slothy Remix

by @beacon

Liner Notes

I first did this #slothcore song (https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/643) and people were really kind in their comments, but one comment I got is that it sounded faster than 36 bpm, and @elesimo told me that sometimes it can come through as doubly fast as you have it in your DAW.

So, I ramped it down to 22 bpm, and fixed a couple of small things that I noticed, and you now have before you a much slothier remix for your napping pleasure.

I’m not really sure what slothcore is but this is what I imagine it to be - slogging through some crazy adventure with unexpected twists and turns. The more orchestral parts feel really compelling and driving.

I loved the bass coming in after that first break! the whole track is still very melodic at 22 bpm

Very cool track. The stuff after the nap got me right away. Fine slothing.

@pfoo

Totally has that action movie vibe to start, but slo-mo. That nap part is so nice, then reawakening to that vibrating mid-section. Then omg, we are at the sloth night club with some evil characters lurking about. Really great textures!

Wow - you'd think that the low BPM would make this placid and tranquil, but this just fizzes with drama and energy. Going by the title, I feel this would make a perfect companion to @Fuzzy's old classic "Goths at the Mall". The post-nap section had me thinking of the Propellerhead's version of John Barry's "Space March" for some reason—and so now I have visions of an elderly James Bond slowly moving into action with his rocket-firing zimmer frame...

zzzzzzzzzzzz.......Fell asleep from 1:39 to 2:03

Cool slothy soundscape.

This is definitely slothy... I need to get to work now but I think I'll have a nap instead. Interesting thought on the bpm.

@nadine

This could be a badass opening for gangster sloths! They wanna be sooo bad that they sleep in the middle of the attack. Lol

These Sloths sound like the coolest, edgier sloths on the block and I'd like to be friends with them lol. You're really on it with exploring the production! For this one - the clash between the pitchy-wobbly strings on 4.28 especially makes a nice clash with all the other loops/ instruments. This one is definitely a favorite

smart tip on the #slothcore challenge. I'm going to dial it down to 22 bpm next time. I definitely doubled the speed on the last one by accident. Mine doesn't sound like it's for napping..

I love this! So weird, it's amazing how much the song transformed!
