Courage

Liner Notes

My computer made it clear to me I won't have to expect it to start again. But there still was another one with Logic on it. But the settings are dated and I had to be creative to make a somewhat good recording. But hey...limitations...they're good.

I had a chord progression in the works earlier this week and now it was time to do a bit of recording. I hope will you enjoy this.

Lyrics

In the next stage of your life I'm trying to reach you
I'm talking to you as a friend
by now I think it's time you need a breakthrough
but you didn't have the nerve
and all I can say is every time that you did good
you just had to carry on

Cause it take light
it takes courage
to carry on
in this life
it takes courage
you need courage
you can do it

do what's good for you
do what's good for you
you know it's good
to do what's good
only good for you

don't worry now

Cause it take light
it takes courage
to carry on
in this world
it takes courage
you need courage

Yes, I often enjoy limitations myself; helps to focus my approach to the song.
I'm enjoying the stripped-down nature of this; totally Ferry, but totally different.
Nice lyrics.
Really great bell-sounding guitar lines.
Interesting to hear your clear vocals.
Very vulnerable-sounding vocal delivery.
Yeah, those minimal guitars interacting works for me in the headphones.
Lovely vibe here.
Excellent work.

This one really works for me. That upfront drum beat with the quiet guitar and vocal is mesmerizing. I love the chorus and the simple guitar melody. Definitely a keeper here

Great message in the lyrics and the music is wonderful. That slinky beat pulled me in, your vocals are like a higher conscience whispering in my ear, and the intermingling guitars are so hypnotic. Kind of dark but positive at the same time.

It truly does take courage to carry on. Thanks for sharing this and working through the limitations!

RIP computer... sorry to hear.

This is absolutely fabulous though. It's tender and soft, but that drum is insistent and there's an underlying urgency to the whole thing as well in a real juxtaposition I'm really loving.

Probably my favorite vocal performances I've heard from you, and that guitar line and tone is drop dead gorgeous. I didn't want it to end.

I like the sparse set-up and closeness of the vocals. That drum is like a clock beating out the last minutes of someone's life. Nicely emotive lead guitar. Something about the tone reminds me of Uriah Heep! Really melancholic atmosphere that draws the listener in. Drum-only ending leaves us on a dramatic note!

a song so fragile that i have to listen with tenderness. guitar is cryingly gorgeous and the vocal is cradled in an objective that thom yorke could never achieve.

Yeaaah, love this one. That guitar line is killer, a bit Jonny Greenwood, and the chorus melody is haunting as anything. Sorry to hear about the computer man. RIP. Hope you get properly up and running soon….

This pulled me right in and I don't want to leave! A bit eerie, yet deep and memorable!

@wolfkier

what a great moody piece. Really spooky and engrossing and indeed uplifting. Well done my friend. Yes, limitations, are the spice of life.
Sorry to hear about your laptop. It gave us all some great music and me some great feedback! ! RIP to the "click" machine! Hugs.
