Are your songs on spotify ?

[avatar]

If so, can you tell me your artist name so I can find you ?
If your music isn't on Spotify, where can I listen to your music ? So you get more listens/views :D
I'm unable to purchase music right now but happy to listen there

@wacha

My music is up on Spotify, my artist name is Catherine Wacha.

@chldomn5 Do you have music up there? If so, what's your artist name so I can check it out?

[avatar]

Some of it. A tiny portion, really.

I've followed you, Catherine. Is there a FAWM or 50/90 artist playlist? I think it'd be cool to put one together.

Some on spotify I think it's coolpardiso or John nicholson . All.my music is on bandcamp under both the above

@nadine

I decided against Spotify and commercial streaming platforms. You only find some old stuff there.

I upload all semi-final songs on YouTube:

From time to time I compile albums on Bandcamp with proper mastering:

Handsome Ron Foligno
I have some stuff there too!!

[avatar]

I've got stuff on there as Vom Vorton, Vowl Sounds (with @owl) and my old band, Lardpony. Not as much as I have on Bandcamp but most of the best bits.

I'm not on Spotify as an individual, but our band
"The Saturday Blues Project" are.

Check out our latest album there: "Thundering Down"

@yam655

I won't comment about Spotify, however I will say even as a niche artist (1), I've been paid by Bandcamp.

- https://mrbeany.bandcamp.com/ (mostly variations on acapella, but also earlier electronic stuff)
- https://yam655.bandcamp.com (current bandname, excluding most of my acapella stuff)
- https://glowcourt.bandcamp.com/ (a 14 album experimental art project, though I've been horrible and only 9 or so are currently live).

(1) One is a lo-fi acapella concept album called "Putting the Crap Back in Crapcapella." The songs include titles such as "Pooping about singing." It was recorded in my bathroom. (This is not one of the albums that has made me money.)

I have some stuff on Spotify under the name NIGHTLIGHTS (NL), I'ts mostly chill instrumentals. I got some Lo-Fi projects and some Synthwave tracks.

[avatar]

Under Clint Lavens or Cripple Carpal Clint ... Most of my stuff is on bandcamp and SoundClick.
Some very old stuff on Spotify.

[avatar]

Followed some of y'all. Keep 'em coming.

[avatar]

Also, I've started a playlist (more for myself than anything) but I've put the four FAWMpilations on there and some music from the folks on this thread as well as some Fawmers whose music I've purchased on bandcamp (if I could find it on spotify as well.)

@wobbiewobbit I couldn't help but adding your "If I Were A Baker" earlier this evening. Great fun.

@tcelliott yay thank you :)

@roddy

I'm on Spotify as Roddy Renfrew. Last year I earned $4 from streaming! I can't get it though as the minimum payout if set at $5 😀

[avatar]

I'm on Spotify. My name is Paulo Ramos and I have two albums, "Rainbow" and "Bones".

There's another Paulo Ramos also up there. We're very different 😂

[avatar]

Yes, because distrokid uses Spotify as one of the platforms. My link is https://open.spotify.com/artist/7sIZ66puFrqWPUQwcGsbCR

I have a couple releases from many years ago on Spotify under my name Dan Vaillancourt: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2ozNFmGHKpQyaqZGc8h6eL

And several more albums, including many FAWM and 50/90 songs at: https://danvaillancourt.bandcamp.com/

I’m not on Spotify I’m interested in hearing peoples works on there. I have been considering it though. Seems it’s not that profitable which I don’t mind, but I do wonder what levels it takes to earn the occasional pocket change for a coffee or something

Cheers for sharing everyone, I’ll get to checking it all out soon

[avatar]

I'm recent there so wouldn't know. So far nothing. But who knows. We wouldn't know unless we try. I occasionally, very rarely receive something from Bandcamp and even after a big change there it's still my favourite place to put up songs. They get a cut but so far I didn't need to pay anything upfront.

"Profitable"? It's all in how you market yourself! CDBaby costs $29 to get your album on a TON of streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Pandora and Spotify. Yes, the payout per stream is ridiculously low, but it adds up if you get on playlists (you can 'hope' that one of your songs gets picked up, or you can submit to them). I've got 5 albums on Spotify (one using a different service, that was in Beta mode, so was free - so I get no payouts from it!) but through CDBaby, I've collected close to $500 on the other 4 albums over the last 7 years. So, not much, but more than covering the cost to get them there. My last album, released this past December is approaching total 50000 streams.
@tamsnumber4 's first album has been online since May and has had over 75000 streams. It adds up!
If you post your songs yourself on Youtube or Reverbnation, you won't get any streaming revenue at all, but use CDBaby, and they 'find' your youtube videos and monetize them and collect that money - BTW, youtube streams pay less than Spotify.
