[avatar]
@fuzzy

That's a great memory.
Now I want a car with an 8-track player!

[avatar]
@fuzzy

Honestly, I think I'm just burned out on hearing them. Due to Canadian content laws for radio up here, the Guess Who are played pretty much constantly on "classic rock" stations, so my immediate reaction is usually, "Oh no, not those guys again!" 😀

[avatar]
@fuzzy

Hey, I'm sorry I allowed some negativity in to my Guess Who Rocktober comment. I was trying to draw a contrast between the original (which I don't like) and your version (which I liked very much).
I apologize.

[avatar]

Congrats on 50!!!

SP referencing Susan Cain today?! Made my morning! The Writing Wednesday blog comments are always a kick in the creative ass :) Just what we needed as the days get darker and the weather is colder...

[avatar]

thanks Kathy, glad to see you made your 50 despie all the hassles of moving. some really good stuff too. i really like how the directions your voice is taking and the more songlike structures of some of your newer songs. the dance stuff is terrific as well, but you are already so good at that that i feel redundant if i keep saying so.

[avatar]
@ttg105

Thanks for the comment and for all your lovely comments this summer! See you next year ...

[avatar]

Thanks Kathy, I think this is going to finish around 60,000 to 70,000 words. I'm a bit anxious right now as I move into the main storyline, so far it's been just the set up, establishing characters etc :-)

[avatar]

Hi Kathy, I thought I would let you know that my wife downloaded and read your book :-) My own book is circa 17000 words in so far :-) Geoff

[avatar]
@nadine

Thank you, Kathy! Indeed we could call everything indie or alternative. Congratulations for winning this challenge!

[avatar]
@jeff9

Thanks, Kathy for your very generous comments about Fifty Years!

[avatar]

Wanna do me a huge favor and leave a little review of volume 1 of WK100???
Here's how I found out... check out my last post on the WK100 forum thread! https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/forums/263

[avatar]

Your Stepdad sounds like he was pretty awesome :)

[avatar]

Hi, Kathy, Thanks for listening to Not Your Kind of Guy. I have no idea if a country duo is a thinkgin the UK, but it sure seemed like a good fit for Georgie and Gwyn. And congrats for hitting the Magic 50 songs!

[avatar]
@cts

Well...I see congratulations are in order for hitting the 50 mark. I appreciate your dedication to the, and your goal(s). Your production sensibilities shined on many of your songs, Kathy. And by production I mean the entire gamut of what goes into making a demo. Aces to you. Thank you for your support for the many years you've been on the boards and hopefully we'll catch up during FAWM '23.

[avatar]
@jeff9

Hi, Kathy, and thank you for listening in to I Wish We Had Danced More and your comments. Don't we all wish that?

[avatar]
@brisk

Oh, that's a pretty good reason to give that song a swerve- thanks so much for giving it a go and commenting, despite your biography! I really appreciate it. I've actually been very patchily generous with my time this year I think, but if I've managed to fool even one person into thinking otherwise then my work here is done!

[avatar]

Miss you... 😀

[avatar]
@jeff9

Thanks, Kathy, for the nice comment on Working Man's Freud!

[avatar]

my elvis dream. i was singing in a band when the dancefloor turned into quicksand. people started sinking and i thought i could raise them up by singing jailhouse rock. it didnt help. then elvis came on stage, i gave him the mic and he continued the song. people rose up and the floor became solid. elvis turned to me and said, "bill, you just write the songs. let me do the singing.".|

[avatar]

i never went on a date until i was fifty years old. it was after the end of a 10 year relationship, and i didnt know anybody, so i had to ask strange girls on dates. which were terrible. they were more like interviews during which the girl would decide where to place me ..marriage material, steady boyfriend, one night stand, or i never want to see you again. before that, romances and relationships developed within groups. you didnt go out with somebody to decide what role if any they would play in your life. you did things with people out of mutual interest in something. those dates were embarassing. worse than interviews with music industry executives. and just as unproductive.

[avatar]

Thank you Kathy for commenting on my Xmas song. I haven't been as productive this year. I lost my husband, soul-mate and best friend last October and this year has been so hard for me without him. You've been very productive and I always enjoy your creations.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

:)

[avatar]

no doubt feelings are strong during the teen years, but my point was that the songs about breaking up were fun, teenager in love, breaking up is hard to do, its my party, hello mary lou, ......compare the happy go lucky elvis of i slipped i stumbled i fell to the penitent elvis of always on my mind or the bitterness of suspicious minds. and all these adults nowadays whining about beling left for another. when a girl breaks up with me, i feel liberated. the last thing i want is to have her return to me. i have remained friends with several ex girlfriends but never have attempted to resume the ruptured relationship, thinking it would work out the second time around.

[avatar]

Ha! I just never got his appeal, but many have for sure.

[avatar]
@jeff9

Thank you, Kathy for all your flattering comments. Definitely I'm not a pro, but I use Band In a Box software for parts of my backing tracks and the notes and passages on those instruments are played by pros who the software contracts with. Then an AI manipulates those available sounds and feathers them into the song outline that I construct. It's maybe a little like being an orchestra leader who is also a composer in a way. I'll often play rhythm guitar on a track and of course it's my vocal and top line melody creation, but there's a lot of technology putting icing on the cake. Plus, when recording vocals, I can plug in and out of my DAW as much as I like until I get every phrase like I want it. All that said, I could never do any of this stuff live, plus I'm not sure I could ever screw up the courage to try and perform a purely acoustic version of my songs, even at just a Tiki bar!

[avatar]

You are very welcome Kathy. Likewise, thank you for your comments and support.

[avatar]

Thanks and haha! Must have been a crazy blind date!

[avatar]

most alphas arent even close to alpha, but are stooges of fake alphas. i was at a pantera concert, and the singer made all his fans feel like they were alphas because they defied the lack of pantera radio play and thought for themselves, joining pantera nation out of their own good taste and intelligence.

[avatar]

my cough drops were confiscated at the door of a snoop dog concert. once inside, it seemed everybody had been able to get through the door without surrendering their marijuana.

[avatar]
@jeff9

Thank you, Kathy, for the kind words about the lyric morph, What Happens Leaves a Mark. Not totally sure I know how that stuff is happening either. Maybe jump into one yourself and see what happens.

And thanks always for the listen and encouraging comment about A Second Look. I'm usually a country/Americana type, but I went from punk-pop to smooth jazz this week.

[avatar]

Thank you Kathy! I look forward to checking out your book about worth and your character not feeling like she is "enough"! It's relatable.

[avatar]

No worries. Minor pentatonic is C Eb F G Bb C
Blues scale is C Eb F F# or Gb G Bb C
I used C C# D Eb F F# G Bb B C so nither would really match although they had their influence :)

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Thanks a bunch. I'll have a think about best way to do it, so it's easier for you and less confusing for both, and if I can do that, I'll send you an email tonight sometime. Have a great day, my friend.

[avatar]

Thank you Kathy but the scale is far from pentatonic :) I love pentatonic scale though :)

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Made me smile, thanks for thiniking to let me know.
3 big mixes, couple dozen tweaks, and now the issue of sorting it all into 9 ablums or 11 songs (+1)
Busy but nearly almost freaking done!
Wanna help with track order lists???? LOL....

[avatar]

Thanks and right now I sound just like Minnie Mouse! :)

[avatar]

Thanks for all your great comments!

[avatar]
@atam94

Thanks a bunch for the kind words on "The Emo Kid Might Get A Haircut"!

[avatar]
@mikeb

Thanks for the comment on 'Wondering'!

[avatar]
@jeff9

Thanks, Kathy. Thrilled at your reaction to Workaholic Country Blues.

[avatar]

Gwen Stefani! I'll take it. Thank you chicka x

[avatar]

covid hasnt had much of an effect on pricng in peru. it has been more the increase in oil prices. also the just plain idiotc pricing mentality of a sytem without any price controls. i have paid several different rpices (some higher, some lower|) for the samr product in the same store. they charge whatever they think they can get, and gringos are often charged more than indians. another inflation-sytrssor is natural disaster, one well=placed landslide can cut off the supply chain for a week.

[avatar]
@nadine

Thanks for your comment, Kathy!

[avatar]
@wolfkier

I've spoiled you, it seems. Lol.
Thanks again. I'll think about what more I might do....

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Hugs :)

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Thanks again. Don't overstrain your ears on my stuff, please. That's my burden LOL.
You skipped #4 - song 24 "Osvaldo's Dog and Pony Show"? Just checking.
Hugs.

[avatar]
@geoff61

Yes I looked you up, you are officially a seasoned writer now. I will keep you updated post 50/90 if you like, drop me an email at geoffrey.matthews1@sky.com :-)

[avatar]
@geoff61

Congrats on getting a publishing deal BTW, I will get my wife to upload your book on her Kindle :-)

[avatar]
@geoff61

My book is a bit Harry Potter-ish. It's about these school kids who go on a camping trip in the Bavarian Alps with 2 of their teachers, they read an incantation that they find whilst there which brings to life a mythical being intent on ...well bad things :-0

[avatar]
@geoff61

I don't know how long it will take me, I write lyrics pretty quickly but obviously a novel will take a lot longer to complete even though it is all in my head. It is based on a dream I had about 10 years ago. :-) My other dream is to write a musical, I have written scripts before, I am good at dialogue :-)

[avatar]
@geoff61

Thanks Kathy, I see you have written novels, after 50/90 I am taking time out to write a novel myself. I had it all planned out about 2 years ago but still haven't fully committed to it yet, I wrote about 4000 words at the time and the people who have read it so far absolutely love it so I'm going to drop the lyric pen and pick up the book pen when 50/90 is over :-)

[avatar]

Thank you Kathy for your comment on River Ramblings!

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Thanks again, my friend. We're getting there. Thanks so much for your patience and effort!
I just finished watching that studio video you sent me. huh, if I won the lottery! :)

[avatar]

Haha. That’s a fair point on cliches. I tend to agree. I mainly wrote the song because I liked the title tbh 😂

[avatar]
@wolfkier

thanks again!

[avatar]

Howdy SBS, and thanks pard, for reviewing "Sweetest Little Rose In Tennessee".

[avatar]
@wolfkier

The aim of course is for it to sound awesome on any device. Frustrating. Thanks again, I really appreciate the feedback, it's more important than you know. Hugs, my friend.

[avatar]

Thank you for your comment on "I'll Dance Alone"!

[avatar]

This is the Laurie Anderson art/photography book that I have: https://www.amazon.com/Laurie-Anderson-Roselee-Goldberg/dp/0810935821

[avatar]
@wolfkier

They are very different microphones. The laptop mic is factory adjusted for " talking" into at a user distance, not singing directly into like a regular mic. sit much further back and it won't be so loud. And probably not "clip".

[avatar]
@wolfkier

I've collected quite a few over the years. Happy to share them. You've been so kind to me.
Just ask... also see me latest forum post..... you might want to chime in a little to get the ball rolling and encourage others to help out.
https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/forums/225
19 days and counting for me too!! :) 9/11/22 I hope to finish and release WK100!!!!! Good God help me make it.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

not in the very first part. Actually i was surprised to hear how nicely they fit in, but after that, indeed. I'm glad you can hear it. Give each one a day or two and fresh ears and you'll get closer. You mix in headphones? Often that leads to too much vox volume and if, as you say, you love drums, You are turning them up and then turning up the vocal to compensate sit over them. One trick, although who am to talk you know the frustration I have with vocal levels, is try listening to the mixes with the drums mute and you'll see how much over you really are. That's just one trick there are many....
Another trick is vox-11dB, drums -9dB, lock those, and then lift everthing else up. If it sounds weird try drums-11, vox-9, right now I can't remember but its on one of the 200 bits of note paper on my desk..... let me know if you work out which. LOL.....
Hugs, my friend....

[avatar]

Thanks for checking out my "Would It Kill Ya" lyric. Cool that you found it "very interesting."

[avatar]
@nadine

Thank you! Sometimes you just have to let it out. My right arm still hurts from shredding xD

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Thanks again! :)

[avatar]
@cts

Okayyyy...I see you're wasting no time getting to that 50 mark (I'm so jealous). Nonetheless, I want to thank you for all the support you've given me since joining the FAWM community. Truly appreciated. Now - you wanna run with an idea? When you get an opportunity, check out FETISH's song Come Check This. Get back with me and let's talk about what could possibly go down in September.

[avatar]

Interestingly my son , Ciaran, is a very talented tattoo artist.

https://www.facebook.com/harringtontattoo/posts/

Thanks for the kind comments.

[avatar]

Cool that you checked out my "You're So Jealous" lyric. Fab that you saw potential for it in a song. Thanks for letting me know!

[avatar]
@brisk

Thanks for being kind about my Autumn song earlier. That was lovely to wake up to.

By the way, if you don't use the line "Some people have summer romances - mine were in the fall." at some point during the remainder of 50/90, you are missing a trick!

[avatar]

Ha! That's funny. Everyone is different. I have dark-mode set to almost everything because it's less blue light which can cause me headaches with prolonged use. It's worth a read! He got a sneak peak of Rick Rubin's new book on creativity. Enjoy your weekend.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

It's the subliminal psycho messaging! LOL.... I'm so happy you're digging on them. Someone's gotta! :)

[avatar]

What did you think of the Guv's new email format for the blog? I like the dark mode--easier on the eyes! I also think it's more accessible now for creators.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

I'm sure 100 gives you quite some variety. Pick a wolfchoon, any wolfchoon! :)
Hugs

[avatar]
@wolfkier

LOL. We could hook you up with a personalized wolfchoon alarmclock track and phone ringtones! :)

[avatar]
@mikeb

Thanks for the comment on 'So Far'! The rock opera is still a few years away, so follow me on facebook to hear it when its complete! facebook.com/mikebirchmusic

[avatar]
@wolfkier

oh yes you should and get out the string of garlic, the crucefix, the stake AND the silver bullet! LOL. Thanks, my friend. YOU are a Godsend! :)

[avatar]
@jeff9

Ditto my thanks, Kathy.

[avatar]

Hi, Kathy, You said you hoped to hear the music for Santa's Only Son. @Jeff9 offered to put it to music and we just posted it. I know this is a topic that resonates with you because of the "fatherless child" songs you have been posting. Thanks!

[avatar]
@atitlan

Thanks for commenting on my #lonelygear track. The opening is the clavinet plugin with a wah wah effect.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

It's always great to know that someone has a "favorite"! :) A lot of people love "Pink Fur Collar" including me.
Thanks so much for all the care and support so far. We're almost there! According to my notes, 10 need quite some work, and 50 have final tweaks to do. September 1 is the goal. 16 days.

[avatar]
@mikeb

Thanks for the comment on 'Last Summer Moon'!

[avatar]

thanks for listening to both versions and citing your preference. i also prefer the new version.

[avatar]

Aww thankies so much for your lovely comment on my blues song!

[avatar]
@geoff61

Congrats (I think) I had a big '0' birthday last year :-(

[avatar]
@geoff61

I don't think you need to worry about the digits spinning on your birthday as much as I do :-0

[avatar]
@tjeff

Thanks for your comment on "I Never Loved the Whiskey" - point well taken on possibly slowing it down. I was contemplating that as well but ending up going for the faster version.

[avatar]
@geoff61

I'm guessing you were born in October :-)

[avatar]

What a gracious compliment on @DavidTaro's and my collab on Come Back. I couldn't be happier with what he did with these lyrics. Thanks for your comment.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Thanks for understanding. I needed to clear the decks in my head, before I disappointed everybody with a substandard outcome.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

if you stare at it long enough, the song will speak to you. They speak. The really good ones don't shut up, they are very demanding. :)

[avatar]
@wolfkier

5 minutes to write, 16 years to get right... LOL. Thanks again, my friend.

[avatar]

Oh, no problem, I'll email you now. Bandcamp is great for messages but not many people use it. If you don't see my message please check your spam folder. Thank you Kathy.

[avatar]

Hi Kathy, shall I send my message to you via your bandcamp? We can then get in touch via emails.

[avatar]

I know! He taps into what we need to hear I swear! His emails are always so lovely to receive. I just saw that you did the Berklee certificate program! I did, too! I received the Music Wellness and Healing certificate through their therapy program. I was doing it in tandem with a yoga licensure, but then the pandemic hit. Thankfully I was able to finish with Berklee Online. BTW, I got your book last night :) I'll let you know when I start/finish!! Have a beautiful weekend, Kathy.

[avatar]

Yes, of course. Looking forward to hearing it :)

[avatar]
@cts

??? When did we have a misunderstanding? All’s good on my end.

[avatar]
@nadine

Thanks for your comment on song and profile both. No worries, it's fine!

[avatar]
@jeff9

Thank you so much, Kathy, for your exceptionally encouraging words about I Can't Take Goodbye. I'm totally glowing to hear that it resonated so well for you and your husband.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

:)

[avatar]
@wolfkier

All i can hope for is that people think of me fondly when I'm gone. :)

[avatar]
@wolfkier

\m/ :)

[avatar]

I’ll be watching out for “She’s Not That Good” as I’ve often struggled with social anxiety. My recommended copy (by @billwhite51) of your book, “Letters on Balboa Island”, is expected to be delivered on my doorstep this Thursday. Maybe someday I’ll have the courage to write a book! Looking forward to reading yours🥰

[avatar]

I just want to stop by and thank you for your encouraging comments, Kathy!! Means so much, as you know, when Resistance comes to steal positive vibes!! LOL I need to check out your new "Shy Girl"!!

[avatar]
@wolfkier

:)

[avatar]

Thanks and I'm built so different than her! :)

[avatar]

ny first taste of the 7th chord, going into chorus after second verse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJgQF_Xaxhk&ab_channel=TheJukeboxRock

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Not at all. I appreciate all the listens and the spotting for anything ugly. You were about 2 days early on the next song though. I've got a page full of notes to tweak on it. But at least you will have had a primer! Thanks again, my friend! Hugs to you.

[avatar]
@mikeb

Thanks for the comment on 'Be Alive'!

[avatar]

i toned down the recitation to better serve nadia's music

[avatar]

You're welcome, Kathy! So glad you're feeling better from COVID!! Hoping music helps you on your journey back to 100%! I had brain fog and anosmia for 6 months post infection. I don't ever want to be that sick again!

[avatar]
@marthie

No idea of which one of yours to topline- would you mind suggesting something? Pop-ish maybe- I dont have a rock voice …

[avatar]
@nadine

Of course I was laughing at myself! There are tons of people working this way, especially in the edm scene. I deleted parts of my comment.

[avatar]

im better now. i have energy in the morning, tire in the afternoon, and have trouble getting to sleep at night. voice is becoming funvtional but weak, and i sort of like the gentler sound for a change from the usual bluster. will go with wife to get tested this weekend. hope we are both clean so the little girl can come back upstairs with us. she is getting bored downstairs with nobody but her grandmother to play with.

[avatar]

another rule of country music. never say anything bad about your mother. i have been missing your posts. are you just taking a break or or you unwell? hope it is the former. i have been missing your songs. they are one of the high points of my day. but the most important thing is that you are taking care of yourself/

[avatar]
@marthie

Thank you for listening and feedback.

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Wow! You went to town! Thank you, Kathy! :)

[avatar]

Thanks, Kathy! I'm not familiar with "Smash". What is it?

[avatar]
@brisk

Thanks so much for the effusive comment on Take Me Alive - that was very welcome! Can I recommend hiding in the shadows by the way, it works wonders.

[avatar]

Hi @sbs2018, Glad you liked the additional of that percussion & bass to But I Did. I thought it really added some punch to the production. Thanks for taking the extra listen!

[avatar]

Thanks Kathy :) I love percussion too!! I think Dominick did an amazing job adding energy to the song with the dance beats.

[avatar]
@mikeb

Thanks for the comment on my collab with Simon!

[avatar]
@mctown

Wow... lot of songs... btw...I thought the July thing was a challenge and wrote one too and sent it to someone. LoL... about time was us to write one. I'll try to get you something soon...DG

[avatar]

@sbs2018, So glad to hear your comments on But. I Did. I loved your description of Kate's vocals "on top and on top of that..." She did an outstanding job and I am so delighted with it. Thank you!

[avatar]

Thank you for listening to mine and Bills collab and for your kind comment

[avatar]

Desperado is one of my favourite songs too!! My fingers must just follow those grooves (must have played that intro 100 times when I was a teenager 😂). Thanks for the comment, Kathy!

[avatar]

Too funny you just read that!:)

[avatar]
@jeff9

Much obliged for the kind words on "Second Time 'Round". Much credit to my collab partner for helping me stay in my countrified sweet spot.

[avatar]

revisiting that old familiar subject https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/1632

[avatar]

I also listened to the podcast interview last night with Marie that you mentioned. I did need that boost from “the universe” as he says. :) I particularly like what he had to say about Stephen King and work vs. REAL WORK.
I hope you can find relief with some ginger lemon and honey tea, watermelon-infused water for hydration and lots of rest!! COVID really messes up the vocal cords temporarily.

[avatar]

Sounds like Steve is doing the audiobook himself? Nice! I’ll listen over the weekend! I see Wolf’s message below—get well soon❤️

[avatar]
@wolfkier

oh no! Rest up, my friend. Sending loads of prayers for a quick recovery. Damn that COVID....
I'll try to make my stuff just a little nicer to help you feel better super quick! :)
Hugs, get well.

[avatar]

i also hated lawrence of arabia. but i loved ryans daughter. go figure.

[avatar]
@jtsteam

Thanks for your comment! I feel the same way about playing with music and it's so liberating just to be able to muck about and write and sing stuff for fun.

[avatar]
@nadine

Wow, thanks I'm blushing. Janis is one of the most powerful female rockers I know!

during the 2 years of the deadly covid, nobody in the states who i knew had been infected. and now, with the precautions having been relaxed, dozens of my friends up there are getting it. in all cases, thankfully, it has been mild..so im hoping yours remains that way and you recover shortly.

the biggest challenge was remebering how i felt about those movies when i was a child, and not impose my adult views upon them, the strangest thing was trying to remember what a certain person looked like, and then his head appeared in my minds eye like a hologram, and i realized all these years when i thought about him, it was his brothers face i remembered, not his. writing that book was a ghostly experience. i hope your sudden illnjess is not serious.

the only feedbaxk i ask from someone who has read one of my books is whether or not they finished it and if so how long did it take to read it/ i finished your book in 2 1\2 days so you know i liked it. thanks for cinema penitentiary, if nothing else, i think you will enjoy the chapter devoted to elvis's movies.

:)

i lifted that change from E major to C#minor fro Elvis' Flaming Star. did you know that the character played by Elvis in three different movies is named Mike? In my book, Cinema Penitentiary, all the male characters are named after those Elvis played in the movies, and the females are named after vatious female vocalists.

thank you for your comment on my collab with nadia, i spent a pleasant evening yesterday reading the first 100 pages of your novel. well done!

Hi Kathy, sorry forgot to say yesterday, thank you for checking out my YouTube channel!!

[avatar]
@wolfkier

Thanks, my friend. I just really appreciate your, and all for that matter, feedback, and I wanted you to know that I'm listening super hard (and without fear, LOL) .... If it's not perfect, I can't be satisfied.
Have a great night, Kathy. Hopefully, I'll get to "surprise" you again tomorrow! :)
Hugs!

@wolfkier

Hey Kathy, please, if you can, take a minute and expalin what you're hearing on Take A Chance. I don't understand, and I can't act on it if I don't. I'm listening. You shouldn't take South West to mean accent litteraly, it is the memory/sense/feel I have of place.

[avatar]

Thanks for commenting on "Joplinesque". Now I wonder if there's a way to make something that sounds like Janis Joplin singing a song from Treemonisha, or maybe a ragtime version of "Piece Of My Heart."

The developers of Band-In-A-Box are making improvements and refinements all the time, but of course whether it suits your needs and interests is entirely up to you. I like it because it lets me do things that I would never be able to do with just my banjo.

[avatar]

i googled kathy holmes novelist and it took me to your smashwords page, where i picked up a copy of deja vu.

@jeff9

Your kind comments on I'm Not Sick are much appreciated. Glad it could deliver some appeal in spite of its despair. Mr. @stephenwordsmith can really find layers of depth with his stuff.

@wolfkier

Just a note to say thank you for your always encouraging words and responses. Every track I post I feel like I"m sending out a postcard and that you're responding with a postcard. I hope your husband thinks of his doomsday doctor and shakes his head and chuckles in celebration every time he empities another glass of Piña colada at a sunny beach bar ! The real beauty twist to my story is that about 4 years later *I* told that doctor, after years of hell and as much study and research and deduction, as my zombie existance would allow me, *exactly* what was wrong with me and it should have been so FREAKIN' OBVIOUS to a trained and decades experienced doctor, his expression looked like he only had 6 minutes left to live. Ha! The worm turned. I lived to get medications that made my life livable again, and to tell the tale! :)
Wishing you a blessed Sunday ahead. Thanks again for the digital hugs and smiles,
Ain't our time quite yet!

[avatar]

I read the email and added it to my YouTube watch list :) The Guv’nor!! Looking forward to it. We’ll need to stay in touch and discuss his new book after it’s out.

[avatar]
@nadine

Thank you! Oh yes this song will go mad with David on the mic! Wow just look at all the songs you wrote. You will hit the 50 huh?

[avatar]

Thank you for the book recommendations, Kathy!! I'll be sure to check them out :)

[avatar]

rwo weeks before the fire, we had a small fire in the projection room when the projector caught fire, and we caught hell for not reporting it to the fire department. and so we read all the fire regulations and had a practice drill. good thing we did, or i would not have known what to do when this fire broke out.

[avatar]

Hi, sbs, Glad you enjoyed the alternative version of I Hate Love. Jeff just amazes me with his creativity and versatility. Like you, I loved "the snarl" in this version!

[avatar]
@jeff9

Hey thanks for the great comments on the new version of I Hate Love. Much obliged!

[avatar]

Thank you for your kind words on Carolina Beaches - I too love the coast, the perfect backdrop for a pensive song!

[avatar]

Thank you Kathy :) I appreciate your kind words on my collab with @McTown!

[avatar]

Interesting! So, it's probably similar to a raicilla, just maybe with some hints of fruit. Okay I take back my unholy abomination comment haha. I'm actually intrigued by agave gin now, that might be one I'd actually like.

[avatar]

You're on a roll! Thanks for visiting and commenting 'Running'.

[avatar]

Hey thanks for listening to Lost, I'm glad you found some things you liked about it. That's great to hear.

[avatar]

phil sloan, the guy who wrote eve of destruction and about 250 other hit songs, explained his idea of elvis energy one day outside a record store on hollywood blvd. did you see the movie, mystery train, about three mystical elvis experiences? he was the first and last of the protestant saints

@candle

Thanks for the great comment on Agent Provocateur. We all had our crushes in high scool, I guess. I was happy enough to dance with mine at grad. We didn't go to grad together, but she let me have the second-last dance of the night with her. I'll always be grateful for that.

Looks like I have some catching up to do. You've been very busy!

See You In Teh Shadows…

[avatar]
@davidkav

Thank you for your kind comments on “Overdue Highway Drive!” I am sooooooo behind on both getting back to people and in listening to tunes. I am Doing my best to catch up. Thank you for your patience. Keep writing. You got this!!

[avatar]
@atam94

Thanks for the kind words on "Music School." I appreciate it a lot. And I'm not sure I'll get the chance to go. I'm 28 and have a wedding to pay for by next summer and then I need to start saving for a house. It's all good, though, I'll find a way to work music into more than just a hobby eventually.

[avatar]

I just jotted that book down; I haven't heard of it! Thank you. When the storm isn't in my stomach as anxiety, it's a dark cloud above my head as depression, creating music is the sunshine. This book sounds like it is right up a songwriter's alley! I appreciate you sharing, as Steve says, your warrior woman mindset.

[avatar]

We must hold one another accountable before Resistance with a capital "R" sinks its teeth. I feel ya!!

[avatar]

I think it was those keys, and possibly even your vocals that gave that feel, but it could just be me.

[avatar]

Yes!! I did too. I pre-ordered a physical copy on Amazon. He's my fav. I call him the Guv'nor. :) Your ASS belongs in your music space, Kathy. Put it where your heart is! He's the best.

[avatar]
@nadine

Thank you! Fun fact: My voice didn't hurt from the screams, because I didn't use my throat or vocal cords. The clean parts were much harder!

[avatar]

Thank you so much for listening and your kind words! I’ll listen to some of your songs as soon as Possible :)

[avatar]

Jerry and i know each other pretty well but hey i write falling in love songs he writes falling out of love songs ha ha!

[avatar]
@wolfkier

And thank you Kathy. Your contribution to all of them, but especially GIMME15chance was priceless
Ready for part6? GIMME15finder? I'm fixing to announce it aometime very soon, likely in the next 24 hours. God help us all! :)

[avatar]
@cts

A big thank you for stopping by. I know you're front-loading and you're already 7 songs deep! I'm not sure I'll be that prolific, but we'll see.

[avatar]

I remember you're a big fan of Pressfield too, Kathy! It's lovely to have that in common with you. Thank you for your sweet comment about my vocals. It made my eyes water. I hope it isn't too hot in Vegas right now or wherever you're traveling in FL!! I'll be in the Gulf of Mexico in a few weeks!

[avatar]
@sunfire

Hey, thanks for your comments on Hunt You Down & Please God. Appreciate it.

[avatar]

I've known many churches that have done this. Probably both sides. One was a Catholic church that told everyone they must vote for Trump. From Bill's comments it has been going on a long time. I did have a church my kids went to that informed the community they wanted no Democrat to come. There's a reason there's supposed to be a separation of church and state.

[avatar]

No doubt both sides go at it. I just feel that no church should be telling anyone how to vote-and time after time I have seen it with the far right, especially since Trump. I don't ever remember any church I attended telling anyone how to vote.

[avatar]

Thx!

[avatar]
@gm7

Thx.
Yes Join us..we all love cats...and your entry fee is a cameo appearance from each cat.

[avatar]

Ah. Was a long time ago and in retrospect I have written a few songs on that theme as well 😀

[avatar]

I hadn't considered it might be triggering for cats 😂

[avatar]

After reading the liner notes on Summer Rock, I am wondering if we may have something in common. Like for instance if the terms 'witnessing', 'The Society', and 'in the truth' might ring a bell.

[avatar]

hey, thank you for your feedback and kind words on my song 'Reverse' 😀

[avatar]
@brisk

Thanks for being my first commenter of 2022 50/90! You've allowed me to go to bed now!

[avatar]

Hey sbs2018 many thanks for your comment on my song I appreciate it.

[avatar]
@mctown

Thanks

[avatar]

Thanks for commenting on my song. Nice to see old friends again.

[avatar]

Hi, SBS, Thanks for the thumbs-up on Broken. I just checked out your page and am currently listening to Nasty Lies--your gravelly vocal captures the hook perfectly! And BowTie took me back to the 80's and visions of those silk paisley ties women wore then to look "more professional," aka "more like men." Glad those days are over! Fun song!

[avatar]

Hey! Love that latest one. Disco rock... this is a link to playlist a friend of mine (who's much more of an authority on the subject) put together: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1avPdjBIm24RUcGtPihzA3?si=0db9b1b7b82c407b

There's some amazing stuff on there. I love 'Miss You' and the Electric Six song is wonderful. I'm not sure why, but when you put disco and rock together it just creates a lot of fun :)

[avatar]

With a huge life change like that, you've got song fodder everywhere!! Plus cats!! Write a song about the 3 cats!!! I hope your new home is everything you want it to be. Nothing beats a new house smell :)

[avatar]
@cts

Wow! Sounds like you've had an adventure already. Congrats on the move and I hope things work out. In the meantime crank out those tunes so we can jam!

[avatar]
@wolfkier

LIkewise my friend. WIshing you a great Summer Songhunting Season, my friend. .
Thank you for all the love and encouragement over the years! :)

[avatar]

Hooray for prog! Good to see you too :-D

[avatar]

Hello! I’m sure the house will be well worth the wait, and hope you get to lay down some songs on the iMac in the meantime. Perhaps featuring a bit of cat choir? :)

[avatar]

Welcome back from the southwest corner of the peninsula and I hope that you have a great 5090!
