Georgie Cooper

Hello all! I was born and raised in the American Army as a military brat wandering the earth wherever my dad was stationed. Now settled in my mother’s native UK, married to a Londoner where we both are living/working in the music industry.

Sometimes girl with guitar, sometimes girl with DAW. I love creating wherever the music takes me! I do whatever suits the song so you may hear me in many different vocal guises. I am lucky to be one half of the Cooper/Jones writing team so you’ll see a lot of stuff from us but also happy to collab with others time allowing.

Hoping to make it to #50 this summer. Not done much personal writing since Feb so have been storing up my creative juices for this! Looking to get some new songs for my live set as well as some productions for release.

Much love FAWMily & have a rock in’ 5090!!!

@miga

thanks for your comment on 'bridges' last week! They say INFP's are rare but I've met quite a few of them =) Nice to meet another one!

[avatar]

You are a superstar!!! You’ve made my day…first with your music then with your comments. Thanks!

[avatar]

thank you for your comments. for me, the guitar is better for building melodies on rhythms anf the piano better for building them on harmonies.

[avatar]

Thx dude! You’ve got some good titles goin yourself!

[avatar]

I really appreciate the time and talent you bring to your projects. Some lyrics take me up to 30 or 40 hours or more to get them the way I want them, and others are quick, in maybe 4 hours. So I understand the time commitment this hobby requires. Still, it’s irresistible for me. And I SO appreciate musicians like you who can not only write lyrics, but do vocals and top-notch production. Thank you for all the songs we have done together!

[avatar]
@nadine

Thanks for your comment! Singing along after listening a song is always a good sign. This year you really got me with your "Day Late And Dollar Short" blues and "You smashed it". If both ain't smash hits, I really don't know.

[avatar]

Absolutely Georgie, looking forward to it, you guys are absolutely red hot this 50/90

[avatar]

Thanks Georgie, yes Hannah is very talented 👌

[avatar]

Joan Jett - I’ll take it - lol! Thanks for stopping by!

[avatar]

Thanks for your comment on my latest effort Georgie :-)

[avatar]

I thought if you have time and want to? https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/5162

@jeff9

Big-time thanks for your exceptionally kind comments on my collab with @gm7 on Summertime is the Best Time.

[avatar]
@nadine

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, that's the backing track and we hope we get the rap of Chris lyrics done until end of this festival. You can take a stab at lyrics and vocals if you like. I may update the backing track in a couple of days. And I'm happy you enjoyed doggos version of my lyrics, too!

[avatar]

Thanks Georgie, I had 'Yesterday When I Was Young' in mind when I wrote it (if you know that song) :-)

[avatar]

Thanks and it is kind of dark humor in a way. If you haven't seen her, her name is Harriet Hageman

[avatar]

Aaah, thanks, Georgie, for your generous praise for Come Back. I agree that David's interpretation of the lyric was really something. I feel so fortunate that he had that vision and was able to bring it to life.

[avatar]

Ed Sheerhan singing Swagger (https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/4709), huh. Fine. Have his people reach out, I'll license it. 😀

Thanks for the comment.

[avatar]

Thank you for your comment on “Better” ❤️

[avatar]
@nadine

Thank you! We will try to put these verses into music, lets see!

[avatar]

Thanks for your comments!

[avatar]

Thanks for commenting on my song Down Here in Dismal Hollow. Lately, I've been interested in old timey music. I haven't been too productive this year, dealing with a lot of emotional difficulties. Looking down your list of titles, you have some really interesting ones. I love good song titles, they seem to leap out at you.

[avatar]

Thanks Georgie!

[avatar]

Hey Georgie - i'm still trying to develop the song into something presentable...having a bit of trouble :(
Hope to get it to you soon; just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten but still working on it. I...may need you and Gwyn's help!

[avatar]

Awesome, thank you! It'll be a minute before I get it presentable, so no worries on time.

[avatar]

thanks again! I use Cakewalk (by Bandlab), this one i did from drums up, using Addictive Drums 2 and stutter edit 2, then i think it was mostly Iris synth i was poking around in and i made the "patterns" from various delays etc :)

[avatar]

aww shucks, thank you xx

[avatar]

Yep it's about the civil war, regarding songs how about Toxic Love I recall you liked that one, otherwise any that take your fancy is great 👍

[avatar]

I'd love you and Gwyn to have a crack at one of my lyrics this 50/90 Georgie :-)

[avatar]

Hey does that offer of vocals still stand? I have a little track that i'm using my vocaloid on now...and kinda would like a real singer instead.
I'm not sure if its your style or something you would wanna do. And honestly, I would want you to impart your own vibe and ideas to the vocals.
So yeah, let me know if you'd be down to take a listen to see if its something you'd wanna do.
And if not, no big deal!

[avatar]

you have a great voice and vibe- listened to your soundcloud whistle song

[avatar]

Thanks for listening! Corey did great, huh?

[avatar]

Just waving! It's taken me forever to get here but I plead #ikeabondage.... EDIT oh lookit that, simultaneous comments! Snap!

[avatar]

Thanks Georgie for your very insightful comments on 'Could This Be?' and 'On My Own' :)

[avatar]

Hi Georgie, thank you for your kind note. No, I don't remember many of my compositions but not everything I compose is worth it anyway. I have some favourites which I try to play from time to time. Sometimes I change something as I play but I remember possibly 80 % of the music. I have some scores for some of the pieces, they are on true piano transcriptions. Each took me months to create and meanwhile I can have an idea for a composition and record it during a day or so. My late dad always insisted that I should have scores for my music and he used to tell me off that I don't always do it. Sadly he is not here any longer. I sometimes write a chord progression or a melody but it can easily change as I record. I suppose my music is a mixture of composed and improvised. I really love your songs and your singing and playing are gorgeous. Thank you for your kind support and for sharing your thoughts with me.

[avatar]

Hi Georgie. Thank you for your comment on my lyric. I hadn't considered the 'ruined a perfectly good song' angle, although it's definitely part and parcel of the experience.

I started with the irony of something without a soul playing soul music and built a song around that.

[avatar]

Hi Goergie, thank you for your kind comment on "Blue Starry Sky". Unfortunately I rarely score my music. I wish I had more opportunities for it but it takes me months lol. Do you score your songs?

[avatar]
@sbs2018

Courtney Love - I like that one even better! Thanks for giving “Bassnan Steve” some love…

[avatar]
@mikeb

Thanks for the comment on my collab with Simon!

[avatar]
@cblack

Thanks for the advice. 😀

[avatar]
@geoff61

Thanks Georgie for your comments :-)

[avatar]
@nadine

Thank you, Georgie!

[avatar]
@mctown

dropped you an email

[avatar]

thanks for checking out "Look Sharp" i agree, Rich's vocals have a great menacing quality for the song, takes it to some gritty places - and David did some great work adding instruments and harmonies.

[avatar]

Aw, thank you for the little flurry of comments yesterday. Really made me smile a lot 😀. I just realised I’ve missed the last two IH open mics. Should prob remedy that… are you around for the next one?

[avatar]

Great! :) I can't wait to hear it!

[avatar]

Hi. I wondered if youd be interested in my Snowballs Chance in Hell lyric?

[avatar]

You would??? Phew..ok I'll have to try to make something worthy enough!!! I really appreciate your comments and kind words. You and Gwyn make such amazing songs...

[avatar]
@atam94

Thanks for the kind words on "Sunlight Bouncing On The Window" - I'm glad you enjoyed the video, too!

[avatar]

Hi Georgie, thanks for your lovely comment on The Wild Carrick Shore. I see you've collaborated extensively with Gwynn so you know his talent first hand. I'm looking forward to listening to more of your stuff.

[avatar]
@geoff61

Hi Georgie, thanks for the tick of approval (means a lot to me coming from you)

[avatar]

jibbidy34, thanks for your top-gear commenting on "Highway 59". I'd also like to hear it put to music and vocals.

[avatar]

You're very kind, Georgie. Thank you! 😄

[avatar]

Thanks Georgie! I thought might like my blues song that Roddy did Mercy

[avatar]

[avatar]

Do you fancy singing "What Good is Love" once I have written it?

[avatar]

I did add two more verses, if you want to see them: https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/songs/419

[avatar]

Thanks and I could add some more verses. I was in a bit of a hurry.

[avatar]

[avatar]
@andrea

Thanks, Georgie, for your sweet comments on She's My Wildflower. Song is in the works :)

I see something of yours I haven't heard yet. Going to take a listen.

[avatar]

Also, I’m recording in a bedroom…it looks like an insane asylum but I have a lot of fun in there. Lol it’s hot and smells like weed and coffee. It’s definitely a creative space lol

[avatar]

I’ll start working on some instrumentals. I can’t wait!

[avatar]

Yay!! it's that time of the year again :)

[avatar]

Good to see you are here! Have a great 50/90
