I am a lyricist and have collaborated with several other songwriters and I can't help from getting more and more ideas! I've learned so much and am so grateful!
'Asking for a friend': you must actually read all three versions: just the narrator changes but it is interesting to see how it changes the feel of the lyrics.
that was the conqueror with wayne. a very sad production, as it was filmed near where they were havinbg nuclear tests and a huge percentage of those who worked on the film, from the stars to the extras, died of cancer, some early, some later..
You want to me to sing Rock or Rock-ish for Fly High? I'll need a couple of whiskeys for that. Lol Sure send it over - let me hear what you came up with...
sprry to hear about your daughter. i hope it passes quickly and mildly. we are doing everything we can to prevent transmission to ours. and i think we are just about clean. kels covid leave ends today so she has to go back to work tomorrow and i need a covid test because of an appointment at the embassy to apply for my daughters US citizenship. so we are basically ok. thank you for showing concen,
Thanks for your kind words. I'm not used to write personal lyrics. Most of my stuff is fiction, but sometimes you just can't get rid of bad memories. Hope it helps!
I'm a little confused by your asking what to do for Cinderella. It's just a songwriting prompt. You just write a song inspired by it. It can be inspired by the soundtrack directly, or by some of the info I provided about the CD, or some combination of both. Whatever you want.
I was working on tune that fit your words pretty much perfectly. I don't have a lot of time this year unfortunately so have to choose carefully. Glad you liked it and your words are always a pleasure and very easy to work with.
Hi, Cindy. Thanks for your comments on the lyrics to I Hate Love. Jeff has posted two versions of the song. You'd asked me to let you know when you could hear them, so....NOW! :)
Hi, Cindy, I'm glad you could relate to the lyrics on But I Did. Yes, there are "manipulators" out there. Can't wait to see how Kate delivers this one! Thanks for the comments.
Hi - I'm claiming your swell "All My Yesterdays" lyrics; I'm still a lousy singer, ut hopefully can do some decent rock "guitar" (ukulele). Hope to have something fairly soon!
Hi Cindy...I know Georgie is super busy at the moment with lots of demands upon her time so we'll see but thanks for thinking of us and good to see that you're having a very productive 50/90...keep going strong!
Happy to do some blues music for 'Suns Beatin' Down' It may take me week or so due to other projects but I will do it for sure.
'Ain't no Mercy' has gone down well with a lot of people which is very nice.
@cindyrella You can write in any theme you want and whatever you think people can all get into. If you want to talk with @jamkar about it as you'll both be collaborating on this, be my guest! It's yours to do with as you will. I'm only setting it up!
Hi Cindy! Great see you back. Looks like I am your melody writer on the harmony challenge. So just let me know when you are ready to start.
I will then pass my melody on to the next person on the list, for their harmony and so on.
Whoot!
i think i know who tom kell was. did he have a prominent moustache> i knew a couple of people who played with him in the late 70s iin the band the skyboys. linda waterfall, who is a terrific songwriter in her own right, and one of seattles top drummers, chris leighton. i think he went to los angeles to be a songwriter after i came back from being a songwriter in LA. but i never knew him personally, sorry to hear he has passed.
Hey Cindy, here's to another wonderful 50/90. Looking forward to seeing what lyrics you come up with. Good luck (although I think you're way beyond luck... You are a lyrical machine) :)
I've been better but looking forward very much to being among old and dear friends in the coming months, including you. Hugs for a happy Summer Songhunting Season. :)
