Pronouns: Haven't found pronouns that fit me. They/them will do.

I don't go in knowing what sort of songs I'll be writing, and I usually come out with a pretty #eclectic mix. I write #lyrics and #melody, sometimes with a little #vocalharmony. Or I make #chiptune songs using #beepbox. I don't play any instruments, and haven't had much luck combining electronic backing tracks with #vocals. I get lonely if not singing together with someone else's singing or playing.

Music influences: As a small child I listened to the #oldies station, #folk music for #children, and #broadway. I was also taught a lot of #oldtime #americana types of songs in the oral tradition. I spent a lot of time squished into the backseat of a non-air-conditioned car with my siblings, and the best way to keep things harmonious was with literal harmony. The go-to was usually a #round, but we also enjoy a #freeforall where everyone sings different songs at the same time, sometimes joining in with what someone else is singing or riffing off it if one song reminds you of another. In the late '90s and early 2000s I was listening to the #alternative station. I was also in several choirs during that time, so I learned a lot of traditional #latinlanguage #choral music, a lot of #vocaljazz, and a bit of #barbershop, #gospel, #experimental sheet music, and all kinds of other things. My grandfather introduced me to #gilbertandsullivan. Around 2008 I joined the steampunk subculture, and became a founding member of my local steampunk group, so naturally I had to look into #steampunk music. These days I find music through the internet: if there's a genre that sounds interesting from the description or that songs I already like belong to, I listen to it to see what I think. I love #filk, #punk, #metal, #celtic, #nerdcore, #arenarock, #darkmusicbox. Especially genres that combine traditional (folk, #classical, #musichall) with modern (#hardrock, #techno), like #electroswing, #chaphop, #celticpunk.

Hi . I was wondering if you have the lyrics for the morph challenge written?? If so, i will get my act together and get some chords written so I can send them over to @carleybaer . Just let me know if there are done.

oooh I see.. read the challenge rules again; I thought we were doing one and one pattern but it seems I should finish writing a whole track ? (like.. all the drums f example?) Wouldn’t it be fun to try and write one and one pattern as well whatever that might be?

maybe I misunderstood the point of the challenge as I have never done this before; I just thought we would do one pattern each back and forth until we got a song :) never used beepbox before so I just started something; haven’t thought about length or anything yet 😊

Interesting. Definitely let me know when you start experimenting. I'd be curious to try it myself.
